“Bound by Promises” screening for Witness

Screening of “Bound by Promises: Contemporary Slavery in Rural Brazil.” SVQF hosted the screening of a film exposing issues of debt bondage, a form of contemporary slavery, in rural Brazil. The film was produced by Comissão Pastoral da Terra (CPT) and Witness, an international human rights organization that provides training and support to local groups using video in their human rights advocacy campaigns and facilitates exposure for its partners’ issues. After the screening, Silvano Rezende of CPT answered questions and discussed CPT’s campaign to end this form of slave labor.
